Downtown Cary

Once a month on the last Friday, Cary showcases its artists and musicians at the Final Friday Cary Art Crawl. Art galleries stay open later, and there are live performances at the entertainment hubs. Visit the website for a map. Definitely check out the Page-Walker Arts and History Center for an awesome robot art exhibit by Mike Slobot.

 

PLAYlist Concert Series: Empire Strikes Brass

Friday, July 27th

6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Durham Central Park, 501 Foster Street, Durham

This free summer concert series also includes food trucks and craft beer. This Friday’s band is Empire Strikes Brass, a high-energy brass/funk/rock band from Asheville.

 

Wake Forest Listening Room: Christiane & the Strays

Wake Forest Listening Room offers music fans a chance to really hear music in a quiet environment. The band this time, Christiane and the Strays, is a favorite in the Triangle.

 

Southern Village Dance Hour

7:15 p.m.

Southern Village, 400 Market Street, Chapel Hill

Show off your moves at Center of Motion’s dance hour outside at Southern Village. Stick around afterwards and watch Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid on the big outdoor screen. The movie costs $5.

 

Neuse River Brewing’s Wonka Birthday Party

Neuse River Brewing Company, 518 Pershing Road, Raleigh

Neuse River Brewing is celebrating its 3rd birthday with a Wonka Party. Try candy-infused beers, “beer factory” tours, live music by Heads Up Penny, and a chocolate fountain.
