Kendrick Lamar’s ‘GNX’ Reclaims No. 1 On Billboard 200, Becomes First Rap Artist With Three Albums In Top 10

Kendrick Lamar’s GNX surges back to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, following his Super Bowl halftime show on February 9. GNX, which was released on physical formats on February 7, vaults three places to return to No. 1, claiming its second overall week atop the chart. Two additional Lamar albums also returned to the top 10 as a result of his halftime show performance: 2017’s chart-topping DAMN. jumps twenty spots to No. 9 and 2012’s good kid, m.A.A.d city surges 17 places to No. 10. Lamar becomes the first rap act with three albums in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 at the same time, and the first living male artist to achieve that feat since Herb Alpert in 1966. Elsewhere in the Top 10, SZA’s SOS climbs one spot to No. 2, The Weeknd’s Hurry Up Tomorrow drops two places to No. 3, Bad Bunny’s Debí Tirar Más Fotos falls two spots to No. 4, Chappell Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess moves up a spot to No. 5, Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft drops a spot to No. 6, Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet remains at No. 7, and Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time holds at No. 8.
