Jay-Z Sues Jane Doe Rape Accuser And Her Lawyers For Defamation

Jay-Z has filed a defamation and malicious prosecution lawsuit against the woman who accused him of sexual assault and later admitted inconsistencies in her story, leading to the voluntary dismissal of her lawsuit. In the new lawsuit, filed in federal court in Alabama, Jay-Z accuses the woman and her lawyers — Tony Buzbee and David Fortney — of engaging in an “evil conspiracy” to extort him with the “completely fabricated” and “wildly horrific” claim that he raped Jane Doe alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2000. The lawsuit also alleges that the woman admitted to fabricating the assault claim against him, while claiming that she has a series of mental health disorders and a history of legal issues. Jay-Z is seeking real and punitive damages, citing the damage to his family and reputation, as well as alleged financial losses for his entertainment company, Roc Nation. “Defendants acted with malice in pursuing and initiating the meritless lawsuit against Mr. Carter,” reads the filing.
