Ice Cube Rides Out Cyclone Alfred While Stuck In Gold Coast Hotel In Australia

Ice Cube is currently stranded at his Gold Coast hotel as Cyclone Alfred approaches Australia’s southeastern coast. The gangster rap legend, who is currently on a small tour of Australia, made an appearance on The Project on Wednesday night, and tried to make light of the storm bearing down on the area. “I’m staying clear of it,” Cube said. “You know, I’m right here on the beach. The beach looks like it is going to be in the lobby in a minute.” Despite the dangerous weather event, Cube tried to look on the bright side of things. “It is pretty cool, I haven’t been through a cyclone before,” he said. “I can check this off my bucket list for sure.” Ice Cube and B Wise are still scheduled to perform in Sydney on Friday (March 7), followed by a show in Melbourne on Sunday (March 9). Cyclone Alfred is currently a Category 2 system, and has already led to the cancellation of concerts by Green Day, Brad Cox, Courteneers, Alexisonfire, and Underoath. (Billboard)
