Elton John Set For Rare Live Performance At ‘Concert For Cures’ Charity Concert

Elton John will headline the Curebound Concert for Cures benefit show on May 9 at San Diego’s Petco Park to raise money for cancer research. This will be one of Sir Elton’s few major live events since he officially retired from the road in 2023. The show is part of the Concert for Cures live music series that began in 2022, which has featured prior performances by Ed Sheeran and Alicia Keys with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra that helped raise over $8.5 million to fight cancer. Despite his retirement, John has played several one-off dates of late, including duetting with Chappell Roan at his Oscar Party in Los Angeles on Sunday (March 2). Elton has been focused on recording a new collaborative album with Brandi Carlile, Who Believes in Angels?, which will be released on April 4. John and Carlile have also scheduled a special performance together at the London Palladium on March 26. Tickets for John’s San Diego concert go on-sale on Friday (March 7), with prices starting at $300. (Rolling Stone)
