Tips for Your Next Disney Vacay

Tips for Your Next Disney Vacay

If you’re headed to Disney, check out these tips to have the best trip!

As fun is Disney is, it also comes at a price! See how you can save some money:

  • Come prepared: Remember to pack sunscreen and a poncho, the weather can be brutal, and you don’t want to have to buy something you already have.
  • Buy Disney souvenirs elsewhere: Amazon, Walmart, Target, department stores, and grocery stores all carry merchandise at a cheaper price.
  • Make your own autograph book: Those books cost between $9.95 and $19.99 at the parks, but you can make one under $5!
  • Bring your own stroller or wheelchair: You’ll avoid rental/deposit fees.
  • Eat breakfast before you arrive: Breakfast in the parks can be just a pricey and lunch and dinner, so eat before you go.
  • Bring your own food and drinks: Buying snacks can add up quickly!
  • Book your trip during the offseason: This will allow you to save in many ways such as airfare and lodging. Offseason is mid-January through mid-March, excluding Presidents Day weekend; mid-April through mid-May, excluding spring break; and mid-September through mid-November, excluding Halloween time.
  • Get a Disney credit card: You can earn points to use for future trips and get discounts in the parks.
  • Invest in an annual pass or passport: If you plan on going to Disney multiple times, this will save you major money and come with a ton of perks.

These hacks will help you get the most out of your trip:

  • Embrace Rainy Days: People stay away when the rain comes in, this means lines around the park are drastically shortened.
  • Skip a Sit-Down Breakfast and Run to the Rides First: The quicker you get to the park, the shorter the lines will be.
  • Use FastPass+ to your advantage: You may be limited to one park a day, but if you can schedule your first 3 early in the day, you can keep scheduling more that same day.
  • Make Dinner Reservations at the Last Minute: This won’t work every-time, so book as far ahead as you can. But if you weren’t able to, try going the day of, people cancel/forget by then, and the park wants to fill those seats!

Disney is definitely strict with security, make sure you DON’T bring these items:

  • Drones
  • Folding chairs
  • Wagons (strollers only)
  • Wrapped birthday gifts
  • Large coolers (small ones are OK)
  • Suitcases
  • Selfie sticks
  • Musical instruments
  • Pets
