Meet King, a charming and energetic male dog with a heart full of goofball energy! While he might feel a bit nervous in his kennel, once he’s out and about, he transforms into a fun-loving companion. King’s collar manners are on point – he’ll happily sit still for it to be put on. He’s quite the well-behaved walker too, calmly passing by other dogs without much reaction. This high-energy pup is a pro at leash walking and has a blast playing fetch – a game he adores. King’s social side shines through as he seems to enjoy the company of other dogs and would love a playful buddy to roughhouse with. He’s also a gentle treat-taker and loves to show his affection by giving kisses.

Princess is a sweet lap dog who loves being held and napping with her people. She’s still recovering from a broken leg from being hit by a car, but she walks fine and only needs help to get on furniture. She’s still a little afraid of cars, but she’s getting more comfortable with them. She’s cautious with new people, but she’s interested in meeting them, and she’s good with other dogs. She still has some puppy energy, but she does well when crated, and she’s happy to chew toys. Princess is mostly house trained, and still improving.

Furry Friday: Meet Hash Brown!

Start every day off right with a helping of hash browns, please! Well, maybe just one.

Meet hash brown…with a side of hot sauce. He walks well but thinks he’s a 100% Doberman when he sees other dogs. Very manageable on leash; he’s a feisty guy who uses his voice. He has little dog syndrome and looks up at you to make sure you see that he’s big and strong. Such a sweet guy who appreciates human attention.

If you are feeling famished, nothing will invigorate you more than an encounter with hash brown. Volunteers call him “little gremlin”. During his photo shoot, he enjoyed sitting for treats, running around the play yard, and repeating throughout the entire session.

He prefers to be the only dog in home, so he’s perfect for that first-time dog owner!

Hash Brown is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. Louis V. is my name, and I am a very good boy! I am potty trained and know “sit”. I came in as a stray so there is not a lot of history on me, but I am a sweet guy that loves to go for walks and be with my human.

I am pretty smart and will be able to pick up on any training you want to help me learn. I seem to get along with other dogs because I don’t react to them when I am on my walks. You are going to love my no-drama, relaxed energy and my nuzzles for affection. Don’t I have a cute face and the biggest smile?! Come by the animal center and I will gladly smile for you in person!

This low rider is 3 years old and really loves fetch! She is shy, but she really started to show her cute little personality in the play yard! Play yard notes: “meek and mild mannered, she mostly played the sniffing each other game with her play partner. We will continue to watch her blossom in future sessions.”

Furry Friday: Meet Percival!

Ask anyone about Percival and the first thing they’ll say is he is “such a happy boy.” Nothing slows him down as he shows his joy of life and as soon as he gets in the play yard, he will run his little face off, cuddle when he gets tired and is just such a happy dude! Percival also is good on the leash and likes to go for walks, although he seems to be frightened by big trucks and may need a little extra comforting and understanding in that situation. He keeps his kennel clean, and he is on the potty-trained list.
This 9-year-old heartworm positive pup lets NOTHING slow him down and he definitely thrives in the play yard! Percival looks much younger than his stated years and is a handsome little teddy bear! Percival is HW positive; this condition can be treated.

Pulse FM proudly supports WakeEd Partnership’s Tools4Schools Supply Drive!  WakeEd Parnership is a local non-profit organization that is committed to supporting teachers and students in the Wake County Public School System.  After learning that Wake County teachers spend an average of $926 out of their own pockets for classroom supplies for their students, WakeEd Partnership launched a classroom supply store – known as Tools4Schools — for Wake County teachers in January 2022.  Since its opening, Tools4Schools has served 4,378 teachers from 93% of Wake County Public Schools and given away more than $340,000 in new classroom supplies.
