Downtown Hillsborough

The last Friday of every month, rain or shine, Downtown Hillsborough showcases its art scene with the Last Fridays Art Walk from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Explore art galleries, artist studios, fine jewelers, boutique shops and award-winning restaurants. The activity takes place mostly on and around Churton Street, between West Margaret Lane and West Queen Street. You can find a map and information on each participating venue on Hillsborough Arts Council’s website. Also, at the event will be a free concert by Adrian Duke.

 

Final Friday Cary Art Crawl

Downtown Cary

Once a month on the last Friday, Cary showcases its artists and musicians at the Final Friday Cary Art Crawl. Art galleries stay open later, and there are live performances at the entertainment hubs. Visit the website for a map.

 

Wide Open Bluegrass

Venues around Raleigh

For the first time, all of the concerts at Wide Open Bluegrass are free, including the Main Stage at Red Hat Amphitheater. There is a ton of music going on this weekend in Raleigh. Just a few of the artists are I’m With Her, Molly Tuttle, Del McCoury Band and Balsam Range.

The Town of Carrboro hosts a huge number of diverse musical acts in multiple venues, including Cat’s Cradle, and it’s all free. Besides the main festivities on Sunday, there’s a Saturday kick-off event starting 2 p.m. on Saturday, in Carrboro Town Commons.
