The Animal Protection Society of Durham is holding this free event. You can get your dog’s picture with Santa. There will also be a canine ugly sweater contest, a holiday pet market, games, canine food drive, and food vendors (for humans.)

Visit Bennett Place and see how Christmas was celebrated during the Civil War. Check out cooking demonstrations and soldiers’ demonstrations, visit with Santa, and enjoy complimentary hot apple cider and cookies.

From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., this is a kid-friendly party with roving carolers, a “naughty or nice” wheel, appearances by the Holiday Gorilla, and more. At 8 p.m. there will be a strange stage show and after that there will be a post-show DJ set.
Vera, a 8 year old dachshund/pit bull mix, landed at the local shelter as a stray.
