TikTok did me dirty again. At least the stupid soulmate drawing was only $30!!
Disney and ALDO teamed up for a line of Cinderella shoes. They’re lovely looking. Don’t get me wrong. Shout out Disney. However, I paid $117 (including shipping) for them and do I need them? NO. Will I ever wear them?! NO! Someone needs to take my credit card.
They’re clear plastic. They actually aren’t too uncomfortable though. They look a bit strange on, because they’re just clear with diamonds on the toe. The bottoms say “if the shoe fits” which is my motto in life tbh. I am typically a 6.5 and I ordered a 6. They fit EXACTLY to my foot, so if you’re a half size, I recommend going the size up. They’re sold out on the ALDO website but (shh secret pro tip) they’re in stock at Dillards! I ordered mine online and had them delivered to my house. They got here in like 3 days. 10/10 customer service for them. They come in a cute lil holographic box and look EXACTLY like they do online. They’re beautiful, I just don’t have a ball to attend anytime soon…unfortunately.
YA’LL THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A HAPPY BLOG. I AM HEARTBROKEN. I watched a TikTok of a girl flipping through her old CD binder and I saw Dream Street. I was SO SO excited this morning. I put them on our page and on our story and on Twitter and so many people said they loved them too. Then a few hours ago, TMZ reported that Chris Trousdale has passed away from COVID 19 at the age of 34. I had the biggest crush on him and I am so incredibly sad. Rest in peace and all of my love to not only his family, but the boys in Dream Street. Boo 2020.
Sidenote: not being able to google a clear image of them makes me feel SO OLD. Omg.
^ click that it’ll play you the whole album ♥

** UPDATE: Curfew was extended to Wednesday, 6/3, at 5 a.m.
Raleigh Mayor Mary-Ann Baldwin enacted a curfew that will begin tonight at 8 p.m. and continue through 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.
She issued the following statement:
As Mayor, the safety and security of the people of Raleigh are my top priorities. After two nights of violence and destruction, I have issued the State of Emergency and will impose a citywide curfew that will begin tonight at 8 p.m. and continue through 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.
By setting a curfew, my hope is that this will allow our community to pause, collect ourselves, begin to repair the damage, and turn our focus to the important work of finding connection and commonality. There are so many people hurting throughout this city, and we need to come together peacefully and as one community.
There is truth in the call for justice. For those who have protested peacefully, your voices are being heard and will always be welcome. The call for change can’t be answered, however, if we continue to allow the destruction of our property and attacks on our small businesses that have already been hurt by this as well as the impacts of COVID-19.
I have great hope for our community and believe in our people. Today, we must work together, as one, and use this as an opportunity to become better than we were before. One Raleigh for all people.
