Doechii Is Named 2025 Billboard Woman Of The Year

Rising rap star Doechii is set to receive the 2025 Woman of the Year award at the prestigious Billboard Women in Music event on March 29 at YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California. Following her Rising Star win in 2023, Doechii becomes just the third woman in history to progress to the top honor, joining the ranks of Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande. Known for her genre-blending sound and bold creativity, Doechii has quickly made a name for herself in the music industry, earning accolades such as the Grammy for Best Rap Album for Alligator Bites Never Heal, and being named Outstanding New Artist at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards. The Billboard Woman Of The Year event will be hosted by Laverne Cox, and will also honor other influential women in music such as Erykah Badu, aespa, Gracie Abrams, Tyla, Megan Moroney, and Meghan Trainor. In additional Doechii news, the Tampa rapper joined her musical hero, Lauryn Hill, on Saturday for a duet on the music legend’s 1998 hit, “Doo Wop (That Thing),” during Hill’s show in Miami.
