GeekCraft Expo RDU 2017 Holiday Market
Saturday, December 16 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Durham Armory, 220 Foster Street

Shop for your geeky family and friends at the GeekCraftExpo 2017 Holiday Market. Everything for sale will be handmade. There will be almost 50 crafters exhibiting their creations. Shop for wands, hand-made playing dice, jewelry and much more. But there’s more. The League of Extraordinary Bellydancers, who present bellydance shows with themes like Game of Thrones, Star Wars and Harry Potter, will be performing at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. And Marbles Kids Museum will be there helping kids create their own geeky crafts.

Paperhand Puppet Intervention Auction and Dance Party

If you’ve ever wanted or needed a giant larger-than-human puppet, the Paperhand Puppet Intervention Auction and Dance Party is your best bet. First, bid on puppets and pieces of art from past productions. Then, even if you don’t get to bring home a humongous monkey puppet, take part in a free dance party. So it’s win/win.

Wake Forest Listening Room

Wake Forest Listening Room is a series of concerts that bring musicians and songwriters up close to listeners, in an environment where you can really hear the music. On Saturday, long-time North Carolina songwriters Rod Abernethy and Pete Pawsey will be sharing their tunes.

Apex Hanukkah Playland and Fire Show
Sunday, December 17 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Downtown Apex

The Hanukkah fun on Sunday night starts at Apex Community Center, 53 Hunter Street, at 3 p.m., where kids can make their own chocolate and build their own menorahs, plus a lot more. Then the celebration moves to 220 North Salem Street, where there will be a fire show, music and treats.
