First Friday Raleigh

Friday, October 5

6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Downtown Raleigh

Downtown Raleigh showcases its art, music and food at their monthly gallery walk. Dozens of venues will be hosting art receptions. You’ll also find lots of deals on food and drinks. Visit the First Friday Raleigh website for a map of participating venues.

 

Bands, Bites and Boats at Bond Park

Friday, October 5

4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Fred G. Bond Metro Park, 801 High House Road, Cary

One Friday a month, From April to October, the Bond Park Boathouse plays host to musicians, food trucks and after-hours boat rentals. This year they’ve added “brew” to the mix. Each month they’ll features beer from a local brewery.

Enjoy the music while floating on the lake, or bring a lawn chair and enjoy it on land. The line-up for this Friday is music by My Cousin Skinny (at 5 p.m.), food from Stuft and beer from Fortnight.

 

Flashback Friday Concert Series

Friday, October 5

6 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Crossroads Plaza, US Hwy 1 & I-40, Cary

Flashback Fridays Concert Series takes place in the outdoor food court area of Crossroads Plaza in Cary. It features throwback tunes from the 70s, 80s and 90s. The band this Friday is Sleeping Booty. There will also be free face painting for kids, and a bounce house. This month is the last one for this music series.

 

8th Annual Korktoberfest at Raleigh Wine Shop

Friday, October 5 – Sunday, October 7

Raleigh Wine Shop, 126 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh

Raleigh’s annual event features lots of wine, beer and food samples all weekend.

 

White Street Oktoberfest

Saturday, October 6

White Street in Downtown Wake Forest

Enjoy live music dancing in the Town Square, a Stein Hoisting competition, tricycle races and more. Wear your finest lederhosen. The best dressed male and female get named Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese for the day.

 

46th Annual Festifall Arts Festival in Chapel Hill

Sunday, October 7

West Franklin Street, Chapel Hill

Browse the handmade artist market, where 100 artisans from all over the south will be displaying and selling their work. There will be musical performances on three stages, food trucks and interactive art projects.
