Billy Joel is making changes to his daily life as he continues dealing with a neurological condition that has affected his ability to perform and drive.
In an October 15 interview, the 77-year-old musician discussed his recovery from normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), a condition that can affect balance, walking, and other physical functions.
Joel revealed that doctors have restricted certain activities while he undergoes additional medical evaluations. Although he has received treatment, his return to live performances remains uncertain.
The health challenges have also influenced another major decision. Joel plans to auction more than 70 motorcycles from his personal collection, marking a significant change for the longtime motorcycle enthusiast.
The auction is scheduled for November 20 and 21 in New York City.
Motorcycles have been an important part of Joel’s life outside music, making the sale a notable personal milestone.
For now, the singer remains focused on managing his health. No official timeline has been announced for his return to the stage.
