Downtown Raleigh showcases its art, music and food at their monthly gallery walk. Dozens of venues will be hosting art receptions. You’ll also find lots of deals on food and drinks. Visit the First Friday Raleigh website for a map of participating venues.

 

The Carrboro Really Really Free Market

This is just what it sounds like. Nothing is bought or bartered. Everything is free. You never know what you’ll find. You can bring stuff to give away too.

 

Wake Forest Dirt Day

Saturday, April 6

10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

South White Street, Wake Forest

Celebrate spring at this free family festival. Plant herbs, learn about composting, enjoy music, dancing, much more. Make a craft from recycled materials with the Scrap Exchange. Meet owls and other rescued wildlife. There will even be a tree seedling giveaway.

Check out the art, and also enjoy performances by the Raleigh Rockers. There will be free ice cream from NC State Howling Cow Ice Cream, and free snacks from Kind Snacks.

 

Carrboro Open Streets

Sunday, April 7

12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Carrboro

The streets of downtown Carrboro will be closed to traffic and open to bike riding, rock climbing, dancing, jump rope, and much more.
