SZA debuted a new song “Saturn” from her upcoming album LANA in a Mastercard commercial that premiered during last weekend’s Grammys.
Her sensational performance from Grammy House Sunday night, presented by Mastercard, features SZA evolving from an underground oasis to a forest glade, while singing the new song.
The ad was filmed for the Priceless Planet Coalition‘s mission to restore 100 million trees around the world.
“We’re a force of nature when we come together. That’s why I’m supporting Mastercard on their mission to restore forests around the globe. Join me,” the R&B star says at the end of the advertisement.
“By collaborating with SZA at the music world’s most high-profile celebration, Mastercard chose to engage in a dynamic campaign that actively involves the consumer,” says Rustom Dastoor, the head of marketing and communications at Mastercard North America. “It’s a shift that we believe can have a deeper and longer-lasting impact than traditional advertising campaigns.”
Longtime Grammy Awards partner Mastercard is using this year’s campaign to shine a light on the environment and the Priceless Planet Coalition. Lyft and SiriusXM are also joining the mission by encouraging consumers to participate.
U.S. viewers can watch SZA’s performance of “Saturn” via CBS‘s YouTube channel, while for those outside the U.S., catch her performance on Instagram.
This year’s most nominated artist, SZA ended up with three Grammy awards.
