Charli XCX has collaborated with Velvet Underground’s John Cale on the experimental new single, “House,” which will be featured on the soundtrack for director Emerald Fennell’s upcoming film adaptation of Wuthering Heights, which stars Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi. Inspired by Cale’s phrase describing the Velvet Underground’s sound as “elegant and brutal,” Charli and producer Finn Keane wrote the song during a tour stop in Austin, Texas, and later invited Cale to contribute, resulting in a haunting track infused with the 83-year-old’s ominous spoken word.
