Oh, Charlene – how she stole our hearts at the Wake County Animal Center! She has been at the WCAC since April and is quite overwhelmed in a shelter environment, giving her a timid look on her sweet face. She finds comfort when volunteers sit with her- she turns into a 50-pound lap dog. In the home environment, she will just need a few days to decompress and then her true, wonderful personality will start to flourish.
Charlene is a low-energy, gentle, and calm female dog. She walks well on a leash and knows how to sit and take treats gently. As one of the volunteers said, “Charlene loves hugs and kisses”. Charlene wants you all to herself and needs to be the only dog in the house. Come on over and meet this great dog! Time to cuddle!
Charlene has heartworms but it’s treatable and not contagious. To help with the medical cost, a $400 sponsorship for treatment is provided by Friends of Wake County Animal Center. Email [email protected] for more information.
If you’re interested in learning more about her, please reach out to our Volunteer Matchmakers at [email protected] with the subject line “Charlene 248224”.
